I want to break up with my girlfriend but she is very sensitive.

Ok, I have been in the position of being dumped on a few occasions and I know how much it can hurt, also being a ';sensitive'; individual. It's a tough position you're in, but if you care for the girl, you will try to make it as easy for her as possible. To do that, you need to be sincere, be honest, and be gentle. Too many times I have wondered ';why'; and that question was never answered. So explain, in the nicest possible way, why you are breaking up with her. Plan out what you are going to say in advance. Try if at all possible to speak with her in person, but if that is impossible, then over the phone. Text or e-mail are unacceptable. Also let her know - if this is a permanent thing (ie, not just a ';break'; or time apart) that there is no chance of getting back together. Tell her you care for her, but a relationship is just not going to work out between you. Let her cry on your shoulder for a couple minutes, perhaps kiss her on the cheek, and tell her you know she'll find happiness with someone else. And, while she may be upset with you at that moment, she will have to look back and realize that you were a very sweet person for the way you handled it.
